The Korea Center on Gambling Problems and Healing (Director Shin Mi-kyung) has produced a youth gambling prevention advertisement using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, set to launch across broadcast and online platforms starting at the end of this month.
According to the center on the 29th, this advertisement was created in partnership with the casino and resort company Paradise. It focuses on effectively delivering anti-gambling messages by utilizing digital content that resonates with today's youth.
The core slogan of the campaign is, "I Play in a Different League!" (난, 노는 판이 달라!). It carries the message that instead of getting sucked into online gambling on a small screen, youth should choose a wider world where they can pursue their dreams and potential.
In particular, the campaign uses the word "pan" (meaning "board" or "game"), which is often associated with gambling, to emphasize that the true stage where youth should challenge themselves and have fun is not in gambling, but in their own future.
This video is notable for incorporating AI technology into the production process to experiment with new visual styles and direction. The goal is to increase interest and empathy regarding gambling issues through a digital environment and sensory content familiar to young people.
The center plans to air the ad starting late this month and intends to expand its youth gambling prevention activities next year, including both online and offline campaigns centered around the new slogan.
Director Shin Mi-kyung stated, "This advertisement was produced to discover promotional content that can reach youth in a friendly way using new technologies like AI, and to effectively deliver the message of gambling prevention."
She added, "To prevent the growing issue of youth gambling, we will continue to expand content tailored to the youth perspective and raise social awareness."
Meanwhile, the center provides gambling prevention education, healing, and counseling services through 15 regional centers nationwide.
Individuals and families struggling with gambling issues can receive free counseling by calling 1336 (toll-free), texting #1336, or using the KakaoTalk chatbot 'Korea Center on Gambling Problems and Healing'.
