Kangwon Land has launched a preventive education initiative using real-life cases to raise awareness about the dangers of online illegal gambling, which is spreading among teenagers, and to prevent potential harm.
On the 14th, Kangwon Land announced that it held the 'Hi-End Campaign' on the 13th at Eonju Middle School in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in partnership with the Gangnam Police Station, Gangnam-Seocho Office of Education, Gangnam District Office, and the Gangnam Youth Center.
This campaign was designed to educate teenagers on the risks of illegal gambling games easily accessible via smartphones and to foster the right mindset to prevent victimization.
In particular, Kangwon Land focused on increasing the effectiveness of the education by producing a casebook tailored to the youth perspective, detailing real-life examples of illegal gambling, the dangers of over-immersion, and concrete prevention methods.
Kangwon Land held a ceremony to deliver the casebooks at Eonju Middle School, sharing their commitment to youth protection with the relevant organizations.
Moving forward, the company plans to collaborate with the Gangnam-Seocho Office of Education to distribute the casebooks to 46 middle and high schools in the Gangnam area, helping students easily understand the dangers of illegal gambling.
Additionally, they conducted an in-person prevention campaign for students leaving school, highlighting the risks of online illegal gambling and the importance of prevention.
Following last year's efforts, Kangwon Land has continued its youth protection activities with the Gangnam Police Station for two consecutive years, expanding prevention efforts in cooperation with police, educational institutions, and local governments.
Kim Do-kyun, CEO of Kangwon Land, stated, "Addressing the issue of youth over-immersion requires helping teenagers protect themselves and focusing on proactive prevention. We will continue to carry out effective prevention activities in cooperation with the Office of Education, police, and local governments."
