Kangwon Land is moving away from rigid educational methods, launching a participatory prevention campaign that allows visitors to check their risk of over-immersion through games and interactive experiences.
Kangwon Land announced on the 4th that it is operating the 'Mind Refresh Cafe' and 'Danbaki in the Land of Soundness' pop-up booths at High1 Resort to foster a healthy gaming culture and prevent over-immersion.
This campaign, which began in August, will continue monthly through November. This month, the 'Mind Refresh Cafe' will run from the 4th to the 6th, and 'Danbaki in the Land of Soundness' will run from the 24th to the 26th.
The 'Mind Refresh Cafe,' located in front of the High1 Grand Hotel Mind Fulfillment Center, is designed as a retro-style healthy gaming lounge where casino visitors can comfortably reflect on their mental state and gaming habits.
Visitors can assess their status through the over-immersion psychological test and the Canadian Problem Gambling Index (CPGI) developed by the Kangwon Land Addiction Care Center (KLACC).
For visitors identified as high-risk, professional counselors are available on-site to provide immediate consultation and offer personalized prevention and healing information. This approach goes beyond simple campaign participation by connecting individuals directly to professional support.
'Danbaki in the Land of Soundness,' held at the High1 Mountain Condo lawn plaza for resort guests, is a game-based program where participants find 'healthy signals' in daily life to rescue the KLACC mascot, 'Danbaki.'
Participants naturally learn about the dangers of over-immersion through various activities, such as self-checkups for risk signals and identifying signs of gambling problems.
To encourage participation from families, the program also includes hands-on activities that both children and adults can enjoy, such as making keycap keyrings and playing ball-toss games.
Kangwon Land aims to encourage visitors to check their own gaming habits by providing prevention information in an accessible, non-intrusive way through this experience-based campaign that combines fun and relaxation.
Kim Kyung-hoon, head of the KLACC, stated, "We designed this campaign so that customers and the public can naturally participate in awareness-improvement programs through enjoyable activities. We will continue to lead the way in preventing over-immersion by operating these pop-up booths and conducting online promotions through November."
