Kangwon Land and national investigative and regulatory agencies have established a massive joint defense line to root out illegal gambling crimes that are becoming highly sophisticated by exploiting online platforms and new Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

On the 10th, Kangwon Land (CEO Kim Do-kyun) held the '2nd 2026 Kangwon Land Illegal Gambling Response Seminar' at the High1 Grand Hotel Convention Hall in partnership with the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice and the Korean Society of Criminology.

Sponsored by the National Gambling Control Commission, this seminar focused on the theme of 'AI Era: Responses and Solutions for Eradicating Illegal Gambling.' The event aimed to expose the reality of increasingly advanced cyber gambling crimes and develop immediate, multi-dimensional countermeasures.

Over 130 officials from core investigative and regulatory agencies attended, including the National Gambling Control Commission, Financial Supervisory Service, Korea Communications Standards Commission, Korea Center on Gambling Problems, Game Rating and Administration Committee, Ministry of National Defense Investigation Headquarters, ROK Army Military Police, and various regional police agencies.

Participants agreed to significantly strengthen a cooperative system covering investigation, blocking, regulation, and prevention to counter modern criminal tactics that impersonate legitimate operators and utilize deepfake technology.

Presentations covered cutting-edge technologies and realistic investigative techniques, including ▲Cybercrime tracking technology in the AI Agent era, ▲Gambling eradication systems using open spam data, and ▲Current status and response measures for youth gambling.

Furthermore, Kangwon Land presented an appreciation plaque to the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Team for their successful crackdown on 58 individuals (including 5 arrests) who operated an illegal gambling site worth 78 billion KRW while impersonating the company, demonstrating a firm commitment to punishment and deterrence.

Kangwon Land CEO Kim Do-kyun stated, "Sophisticated illegal gambling is a crime that requires a multi-dimensional, national-level response. By leveraging this gathering, we will activate a powerful collaborative network between agencies to continuously produce tangible results in enforcement and prevention to protect the public."
