Kim Do-kyun, the 11th CEO of Kangwon Land, held his inauguration ceremony at the High1 Grand Hotel Grand Ballroom on the 2nd and officially began his duties.
Prior to the ceremony, CEO Kim’s first official act was to visit the Memorial Tower for Industrial Warriors in Taebaek to pay tribute to the miners and reaffirm his strong commitment to the region's mutual growth.
In his inaugural address, CEO Kim stated, "Kangwon Land is the culmination of mutual growth built upon the earnest aspirations and sacrifices of local residents, and a key anchor company supporting the regional economy." He added, "At the threshold of our 30th anniversary, I will turn crises into opportunities and create a definitive turning point to upgrade the future of Kangwon Land and the coal industry transition region."
He presented three core management directions: ▲A great leap toward a 'Global Public-Type Integrated Resort' that balances profitability and public interest ▲Building a sustainable ESG win-win platform ▲Organizational culture innovation based on the spirit of 'Sanghadongyokjaseung' (Unity of Purpose).
He emphasized increasing the execution power of the 'K-HIT Project,' a major investment initiative, to transform Kangwon Land into a four-season, stay-type specialized entertainment resort, and establishing a responsible tourism model through advanced AI-based addiction prevention systems.
Furthermore, he pledged to restructure the industrial ecosystem of the former mining area based on the principle of 'special compensation for special sacrifices,' create youth jobs, and achieve sustainable growth through a mature labor-management culture.
