Tatata Journal, Our Promise to Our Readers
On November 11th, 'Tatata Journal,' a professional media outlet specializing in the casino industry, will officially launch.
In preparation for our launch, we conducted a customer survey. In just four days, over 1,300 people—primarily members of Japsuda—participated. We thank everyone who shared their experiences and provided feedback for improvement.
Through this engagement, we realized the necessity of a professional media outlet that listens to, verifies, and brings the stories of customers into the public sphere.
For the past 26 years, Kangwon Land has supported jobs and the economy in the abandoned mining region. Alongside these achievements, there has been a growing demand for addressing inconveniences related to entry, waiting times, seating, and service, as well as calls for fair operations and user protection.
We must find a path to reduce gambling-related harm and grow alongside the local community while responding to the global shifts in casinos and integrated resorts. Tatata Journal will cover this process directly from the field.
Our principles are clear:
“Making legal gaming healthier, and ensuring illegal gambling is eradicated.”
To achieve this, we make five promises to our readers:
First, we will protect consumer rights.
Casino customers are consumers who deserve respect. They have the right to demand fair games, accurate information, and a safe, comfortable environment. We will report on customer inconveniences and grievances, and follow through to see how these issues are addressed.
Second, we will verify changes in industry and policy.
We will examine whether corporate investments and services truly improve the customer experience and if government regulations are effective in reducing social harm. We will weigh the impacts of institutional improvements on user protection and competitiveness to propose realistic alternatives.
Third, we will support responsible gaming and recovery.
Through our 'Casino Academy,' we will provide easy-to-understand information on game odds, costs, usage rules, and the risks of over-immersion. We will not fuel expectations of winning. We will help customers manage their time and spending limits, and ensure they can find counseling and recovery support when needed.
Fourth, we will track the lures and harms of illegal gambling.
We will monitor advertisements impersonating legal casinos or celebrities, gambling sites targeting youth, and the flow of illegal brokerage and criminal funds. We will not sensationalize harm, but instead provide information necessary for prevention and recovery.
Fifth, we will maintain factual and editorial independence.
While we value the voices of our customers, we will verify claims and tips through data and field reporting. Survey results will be reported accurately, including the methodology and limitations. We will listen to the perspectives of those criticized and clearly correct any erroneous reporting.
We will strictly distinguish between advertisements and articles, ensuring that sponsorships or personal relationships do not influence our editorial judgment.
Tatata Journal will listen to the stories of customers, employees, local residents, and their families. We will consistently report on changes in the domestic and international casino industry and evaluate them based on evidence and results.
Your experiences, suggestions, criticisms, and tips are the starting point for better reporting. We will monitor whether the voices you share lead to tangible changes in services, policies, and daily life.
Understand casinos properly, and protect your daily life from illegal gambling.
Please join us on the first step of Tatata Journal.
