On the 21st, Kangwon Land and the Korea Racing Authority (KRA) co-hosted the '2nd Gambling Industry Policy Forum' at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, under the theme of 'The Era of AI Transformation, Shifting the Paradigm of User Protection.'
This forum was organized to address the limitations of existing prevention activities focused on psychological testing and to explore evidence-based, proactive user protection measures utilizing generative AI and user data.
The event was attended by approximately 100 people, including representatives from government agencies such as the National Gambling Control Commission, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Center on Gambling Problems, as well as major gambling industry operators, academics, and experts from the AI and software sectors.
The program proceeded with a special session, thematic presentations, and a comprehensive discussion. During the special session, the winning paper from Kangwon Land's addiction prevention research competition, titled 'An Overview of Digital Health for Gambling Problems,' was presented, followed by the sharing of Kangwon Land's 'Comprehensive User Protection Measures (Draft).'
Subsequently, presentations on the casino and horse racing sectors discussed effective AI technology implementation, such as AI-based prediction and evaluation models for over-immersed users and big data-driven user protection systems.
Kangwon Land CEO Kim Do-kyun stated, "This is a meaningful occasion where the public sector, operators, and experts have gathered to pool their wisdom for user protection. We will continue to strengthen proactive prevention activities using AI and user behavior data, and build a protection system that can be practically applied in the field."
